The Alpert Studio, is proud to offer Los Angeles area violinists and violists custom fitted chin rests, made to order.
Many professional violinists and students simply accept and make do with a chin rest that is ill-fitting, and was selected only as a matter of convenience. This is a huge mistake, and can contribute to injury and pain.

A historical first in the string world, this unique fitting process (patent pending by Frisch and Denig) is designed to enhance physical comfort and therefore, technique and sound. The Alpert Studio is currently the only officially authorized source for this service in Southern California.
A lifetime of comfortable and healthy playing
In most cases, a custom fitted chin rest will eliminate or minimize the need for a shoulder rest, and will create a healthier, more intimate and more comfortable playing experience. Fitting is currently available for 4/4 and 3/4 size violins. An in-studio fitting session costs $66, plus the cost of your chin rest, about $30-$50 plus shipping.
