Dear Mel and Bill,
Jim Harris called me last night with the tragic news.

Words can never express my thoughts at this time. I have so many fond memories of Linda, (Mount Mattier, as we used to call her )

I loved her dearly, and her loss will forever create a void in my and so many other lives.

It is truly a very sad day to have lost such a dear, wonderful,talented and beautiful woman and friend. You are now truly “singing with the angels, you will forever be missed.

Dear Mel,

I’m so sorry to hear about Linda. I recall a vibrant, talented, focused, beautiful woman with the voice of an angel. She will be missed by all of us that knew and loved her. Our prayers are with you and her family.

We are heartsick at the loss of Linda. I can’t imagine what you and the rest of her family are going through. She has truly touched many lives with her talents and personality. Dan Terzo said what many of us remember, when you thought of Linda, you thought “Melanie and Linda”. She will never be forgotten.

I remember the first time I heard Linda sing when I was in 5th grade. I was touched by the beautiful voice God had blessed her with (she was an 8th grader at Hollencrest Jr. High). Many years later I was blessed to attend a worship service in which Linda, her sister Donna and Michael Williams brought heavenly music to our ears. I find myself wondering whether she continued serving the Lord through this wonderful gift He gave her.

Dear Melanie and Bill,
Thank you for this opportunity to remember Linda. She was a person who had a wonderful gift to sing and was faithful to use that gift for so many. Something I’ll always remember about her is how excited she was about creating music. It was a great privilege to sing with her in high school and later in ministry. My thoughts and prayers are with you and her family.

I grew up with Linda in West Covina, she was a wonderful person and always smiling! .. May you bless the angels and God in heaven with your beautiful voice and smile… I know you will entertain forever…

Melanie….Mark called me last night with this tragic news. You know how Mark and I felt about Linda. We will always hold her close to our hearts and we thank God for bringing her into our life. We send our love to comfort you and her family.

Dear friends,
I only learned today of Linda’s valiant struggle with pancreatic cancer and her death last March. I am terribly saddened that her beautiful voice is silenced on earth. Linda and I sang side-by-side in junior high and high school choirs. We were partnered not because I shared her exceptional talent but because we were the two shortest girls and were always “front and center” in the line-up. What a tremendous inspiration she was! While my career in national intelligence necessarily took me away from musical endeavors these past 30 years, I have wonderful, enduring memories of our time making beautiful music together through the Chamber Singers. God’s peace, Linda, and to all who loved you.

I am so sorry for your loss. I just learned of Linda today and i can’t believe this happened over a year ago. I know how close you two were and my heart aches for this tragic news. You and her were bigger than life together and I will never forget those cherished memories. I remember Stageworks and all the recitals that she came to supporting all of your students. My family and I will miss her! You and your family are in our prayers.

Linda was truly a talented person. Sorry to hear of her passing. She was very unique. I had a major crush on her growing up. She lives on.

I went to high school with Linda and was in her sister’s class. Linda was so very special, as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside. I’ll never forget her incredible voice…. could listen to her for hours and still remember when she tried out for cheerleading and did the “russians,” the whole crowd went…”AHHHHHH!” It’s people like Linda that are truly missed, may she rest in peace.

I am so shocked and saddened to hear of Linda’s death…I simply cannot believe it – I had no idea! I had (and still have) great admiration for Linda’s talent and beauty. The first time I heard Linda sing was at a pep rally in the WCHS gym and thought WOW!!! I LOVED listening to her sing and always thought I would take voice lessons from her one day! Life is not fair.
